Juan de Bolas originally Juan Lubolo (1662-?) was the first chief of the Jamaican Maroons. The English named two rivers and a mountain after him to commemorate his assistance in expelling the Spaniards from the island and capturing hostile maroons.〔 The English also appointed him colonel of the Black Militia and offered him land.〔W. Noel Sainsbury (editor), "America and West Indies: February 1663," Calendar of State Papers Colonial, America and West Indies, Volume 5: 1661-1668〕 For his treachery, he was killed in an ambush by maroons. ==See also== *Juan de Bolas Mountain *Juan de Bolas River 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Juan de Bolas」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
